Concept view of the market-level Little Ministry pavilion with children playing inside and parents seated outside the glass

DESIGN NOTE 01 · PRE-DEVELOPMENT

A play pavilion designed around the people just outside it.

Little Ministry explores a simple relationship: children have a defined place to play while parents stay close on the market side of the glass. This page records the current thinking and the questions still to be tested.

This is a concept design brief—not an approved drawing set, opening announcement, safety certification or promise of services.

Where the idea stands

A proposal, not a finished venue.

The current images are coordinated, indicative visualisations of one pavilion direction. There is no confirmed tenancy, operating model, age policy, admission price or launch timetable. TINUNG Night Market in Chonburi is a prospective context, not a confirmed site agreement.

The visitor sequence

One connected evening. Four spatial steps.

01

Market walkway

The pavilion is imagined alongside existing food, shopping and pedestrian flow—not in an isolated upper-floor location.

02

Parent viewing edge

A place to stay nearby must be considered alongside seating, queues, crowds, comfort and circulation.

03

Transparent boundary

Visibility through glass is the distinctive idea. Glare, reflections, obstruction and after-dark lighting still need testing.

04

Children’s play floor

Activities would need appropriate age zoning, accessible routes, supervision rules and safe entry and exit before operations.

Before moving forward

Questions a real design must answer.

Sightlines are not supervision

Can adults see key play zones from intended viewing positions? Who is responsible for supervision, and how would entry and exit be managed?

Movement must work for everyone

Can families with prams and people with mobility or sensory needs move easily from the market lane through any entry and seating areas?

Comfort is part of the brief

How would heat, rain, noise, cleaning, waiting space and night-market crowd patterns influence the design and operations?

Evidence must replace assumptions

What do a confirmed site, dated professional drawings, cost plan, safety assessments and local approvals require the team to change?

Evidence register

What is proposed, and what remains open.
